Introduction

Rehabilitation and supplying furniture for

Hammam Al-Alil Civil Defense Building - Ninawa Governorate.

 

1.      PROJECT BACKGROUND

Project description

The objective of this project is to rehabilitate the civil defense building in Hammam Al-Alil area, this directorate provides civil defense services, firefighting, and damages estimation for private and public buildings in addition to compliance with civil defense regulations of the Iraqi Government, the area covered includes Hammam Al-Alil, Shora, Hatra, and Qayara area; estimated around 1,100,000 Donum of agriculture area in addition to the populated areas in the villages and towns.

Direct and indirect beneficiaries

·         Direct beneficiaries: 48 male employees.

·         Indirect beneficiaries: the citizens and farmers of Hammam Al-Alil, Shora, Hatra and Qayara areas. around 250,000 citizens and farmers.

·         Impact and how it will be measured (quantitative measures): The impact of the project can be measured by the numbers of the families and areas of agriculture farms getting use of the services provided by this directorate such as firefighting specially for agriculture areas in addition to the civil defense services for villages and towns, damages estimation for citizens, compliance with Iraqi civil defense regulations.

·         Impact and how it will be measured (qualitative measures): the qualitative measures can be measured by the improved quality services provided.

 

2.      LOCATION

The project is located inside Hammam Al-Alil Town at the following GPS coordinates: 36.167747, 43.252035

 

3.      BUILDING/ CONSTRUCTION DESCRIPTION

The project consists of two floor building, 6 staff rooms, training room, fitness room two sets of W/Cs, sun shed for the firefighting trucks, the building is built using concrete block walls, concrete roofs, finished externally by cement plastering, internally finished by gypsum plastering for the walls and ceilings, terrazzo tiles for floors, ceramic tiles for the kitchen and W/C units.

 

4.        DESCRIPTION OF THE DAMAGE

The building damages includes but not limited to roofs leaking water, bad and malfunctioning electricity network, damaged sewer system that lead to waste water leakage to neighboring buildings, lack of rooms ready for operations.

 

 

5.      WORKS ON BRIEF

The project’s works includes civil and Electrical works.

·         The civil works includes but not limited to removing the existing roofing and replacing it by new roofing system, polishing the old terrazzo tiles, repairing damages of the existing gypsum and cement plastering in addition to other civil works as indicated in the BoQ.

·         The sanitary works includes but not limited to providing new water tanks, replacing the damaged sewer network, building new manholes to connect the sewer network with the septic tank as indicated in the BoQ.

·         The Electrical works includes but not limited to complete electrical network including solar water heaters, switch plugs, lighting, fans, exhaust fans, projectors, water cooler, cables and main and sub electrical boards…etc. as indicated in the BoQ.

·         The Furniture works includes all the required furniture includes but not limited to manager desk, staff desks, swivel chairs, fixed chairs, sofa set, different types of file cabins, curtains, fire extinguishers…etc. as indicated in the BoQ.
