Project: Construction of Irrigation Schemes in Ekiti State, Southwest Nigeria.
 
 
The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and Ekiti State Government in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) are in the process of developing and constructing irrigation schemes at two locations of Ero and Ele river basins in Ekiti State. The irrigation schemes will be supported by water from two dams constructed on Ero River at Ikun-Ekiti, and Ele River at Itapaji.
 
The UNDP, on behalf of the Ekiti State Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources hereby request for expression of interest from eligible and competent contractors, joint ventures or consortiums to submit pre-qualification information for construction of two Irrigation Schemes at Ikosu (Moba Local Govt.) and Iyemero (Ikole Local Govt.) which includes the following major components:
 
a.      Land grading and preparation for irrigation suitability,
b.      Canals (main, distributaries and drain) including flow measuring and regulatory devices,
c.      Sprinkler systems (lateral and Centre Pivot Systems),
d.      Night Storage reservoirs,
e.      Pumping stations,
f.       Construction of farm offices and warehouse,
g.      Construction of access roads,
h.      Construction of Electro-mechanical workshops, and
i.       Electrical Installations.
 
All companies that wish to participate in the process are required to complete the below application form. The information provided will be used to access your company suitability to qualify for invitation to participate in the future procurement process for the services mentioned above. Interested applicants must provide the following documents:
 
·        Legal registration of the company and all statutory registration with required government agencies.
·        Full corporate profile of the company showing their detailed experience on similar assignment especially on irrigation scheme
·        Confirmation of financial capacity of the company (3 years Audited Statement of Accounts);
·        Evidence of similar assignment implemented in the last 5 years especially relating to irrigation – Evidence can be contracts, Job completion certification, reference letter e.t.c
·        Resume of personnel to be used in implementing the assignment, the resume must include the number of years of experience, similar project implemented in the past, copies of certificates e.g. e.t.c.
·        Other relevant supporting documents as per the Application form below.
 
Joint Venture, Consortium or Association
 
Joint ventures or consortium expression interest shall confirm on their submission that: (i) they have designated one party to act as a lead entity, duly vested with authority to legally bind the members of the joint venture jointly and severally, and this shall be duly evidenced by a duly notarized Agreement among the legal entities, which shall be submitted along with the Expression of Interest; and (ii) The consortium shall name a lead entity who shall be acting for and on behalf of all the member entities comprising the joint venture.
 
The closing date for submitting a complete pre-qualification application form and the supporting document is 26 August 2013 10.00 a.m.
 
Completed EOI form and all supporting documents should be dropped into the UNDP bid box at the address below on or before 10.00 a.m. on the 26 August, 2013.

As part of the prequalification process, the UNDP at discretion may visit the office location of the contractors to further access the capacity of the companies.
 
All submission received after the deadline shall be rejected.
 
The UNDP shall contact ONLY companies that meet its requirement of the services as advertised and ONLY those companies shall be invited to participate in the subsequent procurement process.
