Overview : The Government of Botswana in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP)/United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Poverty Environment Initiative (PEI) in Botswana is inviting competent firms, henceforth referred to as the consultants, to develop a set of indicators linking poverty and environmental performance (poverty and environment indicators) in Botswana. The indicators should strengthen knowledge on the correlation between poverty and environmental pressures, to monitor the impact of environmental degradation on people’s livelihoods, and improve the design and impact of interventions in this area. The consultant is also expected to identify data requirements and best practices for data collection, storage, analysis and dissemination for proper evidence-based monitoring and evaluation of the impacts of poverty-environment activities based on the indicators. The main objective of the consultancy is to develop a set of indicators measuring the linkages between poverty and environmental performance (poverty-environment indicators) in Botswana.
