Overview : The Vanuatu Government considers global climate change and natural hazards as a serious national concern because of the impacts they will have on the livelihoods of ni-Vanuatu and on national development. The government is therefore taking the lead, and has committed substantial resources to the issue – giving effect to commitment in the Priority Action Agenda (PAA) to develop a national Climate Change (CC) and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Policy.
A series of activities have been already completed, which will feed into the drafting of the policy:
• A draft CCDRR policy framework
• A DRAFT CCDRR policy formulated by an international consultant with financial support from GIZ.
• Risk Governance Assessment Report endorsed by NAB in 2014 |
