Project title: Replacement of galvanised iron water
1. Contract description and duration:
The Works comprises the construction of 2 and 3 inches HDPE pipes and house connections with all necessary pipes, connections, valves, valve chambers, fire hydrants, etc.:
- 3-inch diameter HDPE pipes to replace the 3-inch diameter galvanised pipes
- 2-inch diameter HDPE pipes to replace the 2-inch diameter galvanised pipes
- 2-inch diameter HDPE pipes to be constructed new (optional)
- 1-inch diameter HDPE pipes to replace the existing house connections
- Installation of bulk-meter at the reservoir
- Installation of valves on the network
- Installation of fire hydrants on the network
The existing pipes will be decommissioned in-situ once the new pies are installed. Existing water meters will be connected to the new pipes.
The Contract Period will be 90 calendar days including the period for mobilisation and with a 6-month defects liability period at the end of the Contract period.
The language of the contract shall be English.
2. Participation and origin
All companies who have experience in the construction of water pipelines can participate in this tender. Companies which are established in a Member State of the European Union, Candidate Countries for Accession to the European Union and Member States of the European Economic Area. Turkish Cypriot companies are eligible to participate in this tender.
All works, supplies and services must originate in one or more of these countries.
3. Selection Criteria
· Most economical tender price of the compliant and technically qualified proposals
· Company should have past experiences in similar type of projects during the last 3 years. Constructing at least 5 kilometres water network pipes or at least 2 km of HDPE pipes will be required to be regarded as technically compliant. References must be provided.
· An average annual turnover for the last 3 years of at least Euro 1.5 million

5. Tender Guarantee
Tenders must be accompanied by a Tender Bank Guarantee) in the amount of EURO 5,000 to remain valid for a total of 90 days. Tender validity will be 60 days. Tender bank guarantee must be submitted in a sealed envelope with the tenders.
6. Deadline for submission of tenders
Tenders should be submitted in sealed envelopes marked “TENDER, Replacement of galvanised water pipes” and envelopes must have name and contact details of the Tenders must be submitted no later than 14 December 2007 at 12:00 hours Cyprus time at the address:
