Purpose of Request For Proposal

UN WOMEN is seeking the services of designing training workshop module for young bloggers and journalists for an approximate of 25 participants for two portions:

Portion 1 - A three-day training programme with modules covering at the minimum the following key gender sensitizing sessions (15-16 November and 21 November)

15-16 November trainings shall be conducted outside of the UN Compound with 21 November on the UN compound dedicated to a reflection of the trainings and conference reporting.

a) Reporting and blogging for Beijing+20 and Critical Areas of Concerns,
b) Gender roles, gender socialization and ideologies;
c) Gender-based and sexual violence;
d) Media, Gender and Development, Gender dividend;
e) Youth, Media and Sexuality education; and
f) Improved knowledge and skills and gender sensitive code of ethics for media.

Portion 2 - Four full days (17, 18, 19, 20 November) will be to write blogs, reports, interviews with technical specialists identified and suggested by UN Women and UNFPA from the venue of the “Asian and Pacific Conference on Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment: Beijing+20 Review” (17-20 November 2014) as well as the regional CSO forum on Beijing+20 (Thematic Working Group on Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women). Blogs, reports, interviews can be done by attending side events, bilateral meetings or parallel sessions. At the end of each day of reporting, media participants and trainers shall regroup for consultation and technical mentoring. The venue of the training will be in the United Nations compound. Group work will be conducted from a UN meeting room.
