| Overview : The UNDP Timor-Leste project “Strengthening Parliamentary Democracy in Timor-Leste” project implemented by UNDP aims at strengthening the institutional capacity of the Parliamentary Secretariat and knowledge of Members of Parliament (MPs), which in turn will enhance the National Parliament’s ability to fulfil its mandate in overseeing the executive and legislative bodies. In this regard, the main objective of this project is to enhance democratic foundations of oversight, accountability and transparency through effective, standardized and sustainable institutional capacity development in the National Parliament.
Within the project framework the National Parliament plans to produce two documentaries related to the work of the National Parliament and its Gender Component lead by the Parliamentary Committee F and GMPTL (Gender Members of the Parliament of Timor-Leste) with the purpose to increase public awareness about the work of the National Parliament in Timor-Leste and work of Women Parliamentarians. |
