Overview :

UNDP is implementing a project “Up-scaling energy efficient production in small scale steel industry in India”. The objective of this project, which was launched in July 2013, is to scale-up adoption of energy efficient technologies in small scale steel industry in India.

Through this project UNDP seeks to facilitate the diffusion of energy efficient technologies in the small scale steel industry to bring down end-use energy level, improve productivity and cost competitiveness and to reduce associated emissions of greenhouse gases (GHG) and related pollutant levels. In the project 300 steel re-rolling mills (SRRM) are targeted to be enrolled and provided with technical assistance to improve their energy efficiency. In each of the enrolled SRRM unit a two day baseline study will be conducted to quantify the energy and productivity related data before making the intervention. After the completion of the baseline study the SRRM units will be provided with technical assistance to improve their energy efficiency. On successful implementation of these recommended energy efficiency measures, the project intend to carry out a two day post implementation study to quantify the energy savings and improvement in productivity related parameters that has been achieved through this project.

This assignment is aimed at carrying out post implementation measurement for the selected SRRM units to quantify the energy savings, production and productivity improvement that has been achieved through the project.
