| Overview : The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) country office in Ethiopia, through the flagship Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP), will be holding its inaugural UNDP Entrepreneurship Award in February 2015. This is part of the ongoing support towards fostering the development of SMEs in Ethiopia as critical drivers of inclusive growth and sustainable human development. The Entrepreneurship Award will serve as an incentive to a growing number of Ethiopian entrepreneurs as important catalysts of national development. The objective of the award is to recognize outstanding entrepreneurs and their potential contribution to development. Through this program the UNDP aims to incentivize innovative entrepreneurs with a special focus to women and youth. The award (s) will promote the growth of entrepreneurship and innovation in Ethiopia as catalyst for job creation and economic transformation. The award (s) will embed a business culture of innovation and risk taking and systematically contribute to the creation of opportunities for business and wealth creation.
The entrepreneurship award shall cater for different categories of awardees by recognizing outstanding individuals across sectors with promising entrepreneurial acumen. UNDP is therefore looking for a top notch event planner to assist in organizing a high profile award ceremony in February 2015.The event Planner is expected to play a leading role in organizing the event as well as in reaching out to potential sponsors.
The selected company shall organize a high profile gala event for around 200 people for the presentation of the UNDP Entrepreneurship Award. The company will also be expected to assist in reaching out to potential corporate sponsors in Ethiopia to partner in organizing the high profile event. |
