| Overview : Since January 2014, UNDP Cambodia has been implementing the Community Based REDD+ initiative to promote community-based REDD+, executed by UNOPS. The Community Based REDD+ (CBR+) is a global initiative co-financed by the United Nations Collaborative Programme on Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation in Developing Countries (UN-REDD Programme) and the GEF Small Grants Programme (SGP). The initiative aims to catalyze REDD+ readiness from the ground up, bringing resources and capacity to indigenous peoples and other forest-dependent communities, empowering them to engage in national REDD+ activities and pilot REDD+ methodologies and approaches. The Small Grants Programme (SGP) works directly by providing grants and technical support to local NGOs and community-based organizations (CBOs). Grants are distributed on a competitive basis. UNDP Cambodia would like to invite local NGOs and CBOs working to promote CBR+ and rural poverty reduction in Ratanakiri, Mondulkiri, Steung Treng, Kratie, Kompong Thom, Preah Vihear and Oddar Meanchey provinces to apply for funding. Grants of up to US$ 50,000 are available per project. SGP/CBR+ will fund up to 50% of the total project cost with the remaining funding to be provided by the funded organization, community contribution and/or other donor support, either monetary or in kind and services.
