In 1992, the Decentralization Programme, whose overall aim was to empower people, democratize state power and facilitate modernization of Uganda’s communities was adopted. As the Ministry prepares to celebrate the Africa Day of Decentralization and Local Development, resources from United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) have been identified to take stock of the achievements of the decentralization process since its inception. |
