Overview : The Government of Uganda embarked on rationalizing the structures, functions and staff establishments of public institutions to respond to the changes in legislation, policy and operational strategies as a measure for enhancing productivity and service delivery. This follows a comprehensive review of the LG Structure that recommended the regionalization of three statutory bodies namely: District Service Commission (DSC); District Land Board (DLB); and Local Government Public Accounts Committee (LGPAC). To this end, the Ministry has received funding from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to engage a consultant to develop guidelines to facilitate the institutionalization of this structure in the Local Government System. |
