Overview : The United Nations House occupies 3.2 acres of land and the entire space is allotted for 6 buildings, 112 car parking slots, flower beds, lawn, motorcycle parking, dispensary, bank, crèche, fuel station, generators and storage areas. The UN Buildings were occupied by UN Agencies in 1985. The requirement of office space has significantly changed since then and the requirements for the use of office space have grown manifold over the years. Currently approximately 34,000 sq.ft of space is available for offices and these are occupied by 7 different UN Agencies namely UNDP, UNICEF, FAO, WHO, UNAIDS, UNDSS and UNIC. With the growing expansion of office space requirements, it is important to undertake a comprehensive review of the use of the overall space in the compound to ensure the most efficient and effective utilization of space, whilst introducing best practice greening initiatives where appropriate. In this context, UNDP on behalf of participating UN Agencies is looking for a competent firm capable of carrying out the Space Audit to work for maximizing efficiency of space occupation in the whole compound. The consulting firm will furnish a report with recommendations to enhance efficiency in terms of proper utilization of space and keeping in view the security and safety of the staff |
