| Overview : United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) partners with people at all levels of society to help build nations that can withstand crisis, and drive and sustain the kind of growth that improves the quality of life for everyone. On the ground in 177 countries and territories, we offer global perspective and local insight to help empower lives and build resilient nations. UNDP Global Shared Services Centre (UNDP GSSC) was established in 2012 to support the implementation of the International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS). It provides accounting transactions and advisory services to other UNDP offices worldwide. Customer satisfaction is a key tenet and the centre has to be customer focused, providing high level of service to the Country Offices. Sufficient command and proficiency of a foreign language (Spanish) will allow staff to better communicate with their counterparts worldwide. The Centre is staffed by both national and international recruited staff (the majority of whom are certified accountants) holding various positions at the Centre. Objectives: The objective of the training is to ensure that participants achieve general linguistic competence covering written, listening, reading and oral comprehension and expression. The ultimate aim for participants is to gain sufficient command of the language to allow them to use it in the context of their work and general day to day situations.
