Overview :

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is a key partner of the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GF or the Global Fund) and serves as the Principal Recipient (PR) of GF grants in Belize. The Global Fund to Fight HIV/AIDS, TB and Malaria had allocated USD 3,359,024 for the fight against HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis in Belize.

The Global Fund project implemented by UNDP Country Office in Belize hereby invites registered Local and International Non-Governmental Organizations and National Institutions (CBOs, CSOs, Academic institutions, raining Institutions, Research Institutions, and Consultancy Firms) to submit their Expression of Interest (EOI) for the Implementation of HIV and TB Intervention Projects in Belize.

This call for expression of interest will lead to a pre-qualification of suitable sub-recipients to partner with the PR in implementing projects funded by the GF. The general scope of services shall include, but not limited to, the following:

  1. AREAS OF PARTNERSHIPS;

 UNDP, a Principal Recipient of GFATM, is planning to establish partnerships with Local and International Non-Governmental Organizations and National Institutions to implement projects in the following areas:

HIV/ AIDS;

  1. Prevention Programme among men at risk, MSM and TG in three districts-Belize, Cayo & Stann Creek.

  2. Implementation of other projects targeting men at risk, MSM and TG in three districts-Belize, Cayo & Stann Creek

  3. Capacity building programs for National NGOs/CBOs working with Key affected population in three districts-Belize, Cayo & Stann Creek.

  4. Family and Community intermediaries and politics interventions to sustain health engagements and strengthen health seeking behaviors.

  5. Removing legal barriers interventions that are necessary to address the legal- and policy-related impediments to accessing health services

  6. Support to ART retention- and adherence.

  7. Stigma reduction interventions at different level including trainings.

  8. Implementation of the projects targeting people living with HIV (counseling, treatment adherence and nutritional support.

    Tuberculosis

  9. Expand existing Advocacy Communication Social Mobilization (ACSM) networks by engaging health educators, NGOs and the civil society

  10. Build capacity for TB advocacy with the media

  11. Build capacity of TB staff on health communication skills

  12. Empower TB patients and their families through supportive environments

  13. Support to Tuberculosis community-based initiatives to enhance early detection, treatment retention, success and stigma reduction
