RFP/ZWE/005/2015: Project Management Consultancy: Local Area Network (LAN) And Internet Infrastructure Installation For the Electronic Patient Monitoring System (ePMS) for the ministry of Health & Child Care, Zimbabwe (MoHCC: Revision 1

UNDP Zimbabwe Country Office embarked on an RFP process for the implementation of LAN and Internet connectivity to 348 medical centers (at Rural Health Centres, Clinics, Mission, Council, District, Provincial and Central/Referral Hospitals) across the country to provide a real-time internet/web based electronic Patients Monitoring System (ePMS). Given the scale of the project, which is largely of a technical nature, UNDP has found it necessary to engage a third party in the form of a Project Management Consulting firm  which will function as the Project Manager/Consultant to oversee the implementation of the ICT infrastructure. Adherence to industry standards as a way of quality assurance is critical in the implementation, among other benefits, hence the need to engage a Project Manager/Consultant.

The main objective of this service is to implement the recommendations of the internet Local Area Network (LAN) Mapping And Internet Infrastructure For the Electronic Patient Monitoring System Assessment Report conducted in November/December 2013; installing WANs/LANs equipment and connecting 348 MOHCC assessed sites (at Rural Health Centres, Clinics, Mission, Council, District, Provincial and Central/Referral Hospitals) across the country to the recommended broadband internet speeds and technologies, and ensuring that all the sites have functional infrastructure and adequate power backup and sufficient standalone power where mains power is not available.

All prospective bidders should note that this process is a build-up on prior consultancy works that resulted in the production of the Local Area Network (LAN) Mapping And Internet Infrastructure For the Electronic Patient Monitoring System Assessment Report by Digitron Business Systems, Zimbabwe.  Interested bidders can have access to this report and other documents upon request.
