| Overview : In 2010 OHCHR Uganda develop a Uganda website uganda.ohchr.org based on the OHCHR global website templates. The global website is a rather static website coded in technical language as opposed to contemporary Content Management Systems. At several OHCHR Uganda staff coordination meetings, it has been suggested that the website needs to be re-designed to make it more user-friendly, allowing easy access, search and identification of uploaded resources, calendar scheduling of key events and archiving content that can later be useful for generating reports as required by the office. As technologies keep emerging and user requirements change, it has also been expressed that the OHCHR Uganda need to engage with social media tools such as; Facebook, YouTube, twitter, google+, and have a photo gallery added to the website. The website will remain hosted at Headquarters - Geneva. The website would be updated regularly and would also include field-based stories of success, and or impact. The re-design therefore aims at raising the profile of OHCHR Uganda in the implementation of the High Commissioner’s mandate and general promotion and protection mandate of the Office in Uganda.
