Overview :

This project will adopt a twin strategy. One element will focus on identifying opportunities for skilled personnel in the business sector and entrepreneurial opportunities in their supply chain. The second will focus on mobilisation and capacity building of women so that they avail of the opportunities arising from the business sector in a manner that is in harmony with their aspirations and needs. The project will be implemented in collaboration with Government, industries and implementing agencies who will be identified through due diligence process and will leverage on the existing Government programmes/schemes and existing platforms to reach the goal.

The project will be located in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra and the NCR Region. Thus it is proposed to set up state-level offices in Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai/Pune and Gurgaon/Manesar. UNDP is seeking to create a roster of training institutes to deliver skill-building training programs and post-training placement services to selected girls/women in the selected states. UNDP will be responsible for mobilization of girls/women.

Expressions of Interest are invited from agencies with a proven track record in the following areas:

  • Providing screening and counselling of mobilized girls/women.
  • Assessing the need and aptitude that are fundamental for the training
  • Developing training content to ensure employability as per current industry practices.
  • Providing training and certification of the girls/women post training.
  • Providing quality trainings as per NSDC approved protocols and guidelines.
  • Conducting timely assessment and monitoring of the learnings of the trainees through provision of individual feedback.
  • Placement of the trainees and tracking placed trainees for a period of six months.
  • Leveraging Government funding for provision of training to women and girls
  • A high proportion of placement of the trained women and girls in the private sector.
