Overview : The world is facing humanitarian needs on an unprecedented scale. The external environment is also changing rapidly through climate change, demographic shifts and advances in technology. The global community must continually seek better ways to meet the needs of millions of people affected by conflicts and disasters. The first World Humanitarian Summit (WHS), which will take place in Istanbul in May 2016, will bring together governments, humanitarian organizations, people affected by humanitarian crises and new partners including the private sector to propose solutions to our most pressing challenges and set an agenda to keep humanitarian action fit for the future. More information can be found on the WHS website: https://www.worldhumanitariansummit.org/ Within this context, the World Humanitarian Summit secretariat (WHSS) is seeking to produce four films related to the humanitarian situation of the world and the solutions that can be found through collective action. The purpose of the films is to increase public awareness about the WHS and the Secretary-Genera’s Agenda for Humanity, and inspire commitments to action in solidarity with people affected by crises. |
