Overview : The project was designed to improve the Management Effectiveness of the Chobe-Kwando-Linyanti Matrix of Protected Areas (Bio-Chobe Project), Strengthen Management Effectiveness of the National PA system, conserve globally significant biodiversity and maintain healthy and resilient ecosystems with strategic emphasis on the Chobe-Kwando-Linyanti Matrix of Protected Areas. The project intends to achieve that through addressing the challenges and threats to Chobe-Kwando-Linyanti area biodiversity and ecosystems, which include; illegal harvesting; subsistence and commercial poaching of wildlife and use of forest products, bush fires, land-use conflicts. The project is based in Kasane. The project started on the 20th December 2013, and is in its third year of implementation. In line with the UNDP-GEF Guidance on Mid-Term Reviews (MTR), the project is due for a mid-term review. To that end, UNDP requires services of a qualified consultant to undertake the midterm review of the project.
