Across Syria, the humanitarian situation continues to deteriorate. The southern governorates of Dar’a and Quneitra now host an estimated 732,253 people in need. Humanitarian actors, including INGOs and national/Syrian NGOs, have long extended a lifeline to those in the south through “informal” cross-border operations and, with the UN Security Council’s unanimously adoption of resolution 2165/2191 in July 2014, UN agencies and their implementing partners began to deliver assistance via to southern Syria via Al-Ramtha border point.

The incumbent will play a critical role in needs and population monitoring in southern Syria, providing cross-border humanitarian actors with information required to inform the response. Specifically, the incumbent will be called upon to fill gaps in available information on: political- and conflict-related developments in southern Syria; humanitarian needs, response and gaps, including among people living in informal tented settlements; and population figures and IDP movements. The incumbent will also have a central role to play in the engagement and capacity development of Syrian NGO partners.

Technical and financial proposals along with CV & 3 references should be submitted, and without such will not be considered).
