Overview :

Interested candidates are invited to submit the following documents/information no later than 5 May 2017, at 18:00 hrs (Jordan time) by email to: rchc.jo@one.un.org with subject: “Policy Specialist”.

  1. Personal History Form (P-11) or a CV, including 3 references
  2. Technical proposal

           i. Explaining why they are the most suitable for the work

           ii .Providing a brief methodology (not more than 3 pages) on how they would approach and conduct the work.

       3. Financial proposal in accordance with the attached deliverables.

The Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator’s Office (RC/HC-O) in Jordan supports the UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in providing strategic direction to the UN Country Team (UNCT), coordinating joint initiatives, and pooling the financial and human resources of the UNCT in the most efficient and effective manner. The RC/HC-O also monitors developments at the global and regional level, of relevance to UN programming in the country.

In 2017, the UNCT in Jordan is a UNDAF roll-out country. The process for developing the UNDAF will include a series of thematic consultations based upon the Common Country Assessment and with a view to further defining the concept of resilience in the Jordan context. In addition, the UNDAF will provide the overall programmatic framework for the formal adoption of the Delivering as One approach.

Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator, the UN Coordination Specialist provide support to the roll-out of the UNDAF and Delivering as One process. The Coordination Specialist will also prepare monthly briefings for the RC/HC and input to talking points, speeches etc.

Overall, the consultant will also provide support to the RC/HC office in its coordination functions as required.
