Consultancy Title: Communication Strategy Planning and Training Consultant

 

 

Project Name: Food Security Resilience to Climate Change - Communication Strategy in Kiribati (Kiribati LDCF)

 

Duty Station: Kiribati and Home-Based

 

Duration of the Contract:

  • Contract period:  6 months
  • Number of working days:  60 working days excluding international travel (40 working days in country and 20 days home based)
  • Commencement and ends dates of assignment:  July 2017 - January 2018

 

Consultancy Proposal should be mailed to C/- UNDP Fiji MCO, Private Mail Bag, Suva, Fiji or sent via email to procurement.fj@undp.org no later than 12th July, 2017 (Fiji Time) clearly stating the title of consultancy applied for. Any proposals received after this date/time will not be accepted. Any request for clarification must be sent in writing, or by standard electronic communication to the address or e-mail indicated above. UNDP will respond in writing or by standard electronic mail and will send written copies of the response, including an explanation of the query without identifying the source of inquiry, to all consultants. Incomplete, late and joint proposals will not be considered and only offers for which there is further interest will be contacted. Failure to submit your application as stated as per the application submission guide (Procurement Notice) on the above link will be considered incomplete and therefore application will not be considered.

 

 

Objectives:

Statement(s) outlining clearly the anticipated results of the consultancy.

 

The Consultant is expected to formulate a Communication Strategy and a Communication Action Plan that will help in creating awareness of the LDCF – Food Security concept to influence behavioral changes across multiple stakeholders in Kiribati (communities, government, private sectors etc) under the guidance of the Kiribati LDCF Project Management Unit (PMU).

 

The Consultant overall is also expected to

  • Conduct training of trainers with target communities to take lead in the implementation plan. These training of trainers will act as LDCF Ambassadors that will implement the communication action plan.

 

  • Assist in the implementation of at least 2 activities identified from the communication plan and design and develop its related communication products. Through this process the consultant is to work with the project to develop a conservation awareness program that will help raise wares and assist with national and island level prioritization of adaptation action for fisheries and food security. 

 

He/She will collaborate with other specialized consultants in designing the communication strategy and action plan.
