| Overview : UNCDF seeks a qualified consultancy firm to conduct a Government to People (G2P) Financial Lives Survey in Sierra Leone: The objective of the assignment is to collect data on the financial lives of the Government employees and their neighbouring communities in rural areas where they are based. The survey will focus on information related to agriculture, income and expenses for rural people, savings, and investment in the family business, household construction, loans, money transfers, infrastructure and ICT access. Specifically, this assignment will collect information about the financial products people hold and their experience of dealing with financial products and firms. The outcomes of the assignment will be a detailed analysis of the financial lives of Government employees in rural areas and their neighbouring communities. Deeper investigation into the financial lives/habits of the Government salary recipients will help UNCDF and Government of Sierra Leone to validate assumptions about their current hardships and also design solutions that will: - Directly improve the financial lives of Government employees: improved access, greater convenience.
- Improved efficiency and cost savings from digitization of government salary payments
- Greater cash in the financial sector (not withdrawing in full)
- Broadening financial inclusion by benefiting surrounding communities/markets through expanding DFS
