Overview
The subject of this contract is the design, construction and operation of the New Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) of Nicosia at the Mia Milia/Haspolat as follows:
· Design of WWTP for a nominal load of 403,672 population equivalent and an average daily flow of 45,000 m³/d.
· Construction of two thirds of the designed WWTP solution for all major items of the project, as defined in the Tender Dossier, for a load of 269,115 PE and 30,000 m³/d.
· Operation and Maintenance of the WWTP for 10 years.
· The WWTP will consist of the main following elements - I) wastewater treatment: pre-treatment, primary treatment, activated sludge system with sludge/liquid membrane separation (i.e. membrane bioreactor technology) including biological nutrient removal; II) Sludge handling and treatment: mechanical pre-thickening, anaerobic mesophilic sludge digestion (depending on availability of funds) and final dewatering with either filter presses or centrifuges

before 31 August 2009 at 12h00 GMT (15h00 local time) by registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt or hand-delivered against receipt signed by UNDP-PFF. Late submissions shall be rejected.
The Tenders will be opened in public session on 31 August 2009 at 12h30 GMT (15h30 local time) by the Evaluation Committee appointed for the purpose.

The Tenderer’s designated representative is required to attend the obligatory pre-proposal clarification Conference at Ledra Palace Hotel in the United Nations buffer zone, Nicosia, Cyprus at 10:00 am local time on 6 July 2009 and the site visit to follow.
