| Overview : Inter-governmental Authority for development (IGAD) is established to promote cooperation and development in economic, social and cultural activities, and to raise the standard of living of the people in its Member States. In line with these aspirations, IGAD undertook to safeguard and consolidate relations conducive to the maintenance of global peace, stability and security as it works towards the attainment of regional integration and development. However, it recognizes that these objectives cannot be attained unless an atmosphere of sustainable peace and security prevails. The IGAD Secretariat leadership, together with partners, has identified the critical need of establishing a strategic regional system for the development of a holistic humanitarian policy framework document closely tailored to the context, realities and which address the humanitarian, peace and security, development, and regional integration priorities of each IGAD member states. Objective of the assignment The overall objective of the assignment is to conduct the two exercises namely: IGAD State of Humanitarian Report and the IGAD Humanitarian Policy Framework based on the Report and other international, continental and regional normative documents. |
