Overview : In 2015/16 travel costs for the UN Botswana constituted 17% of the UN total procurement expenditure. This represented a combined annual value of USD756, 609.81 which is expected to increase over the next three years. With increase in demand for travel, the UN system in Botswana and indeed globally continues to explore cheaper and most cost effective ways for staff, consultants and or implementing partner to meet (include virtual meetings). However where it is unavoidable to travel the UN Botswana is looking at effective cost containment measures in respect of travel. Detailed travel expenditure for the UN system in Botswana is provided in the table below: UN Agencies Travel Expenditure for 2015 and 2016 The annual value and volume of travel services procured by the UN system in Botswana stated above is presented below. | 2015 | 2016 | | USD | USD | UNDP | 169,617.00 | 103,496.41 | UNFPA | 115,522.00 | 113,703.00 | UNICEF | 51,544.40 | 39,940.80 | UNHCR | 19,398.40 | 10,672.80 | UNAIDS | 11,900.00 | 10,490.00 | UNDPA | 4,640.00 | 13,908.00 | WHO | 125,000.00 | 85,000.00 | OTHERS | 63,968.00 | 27,809.00 | TOTAL | 436,589.80 | 320,020.01 |
