Overview : The Fiji Access to Justice Project, funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme, supports access to justice for impoverished and vulnerable groups through empowering people to access legal rights and services through the relevant key justice institutions, in conjunction with strengthening those key justice institutions to undertake improved service delivery. The Legal Aid Commission and the Judicial Department are the two key justice institutions entry points for access to justice, along with links to other institutions, and are being strengthened under this project. Under the Fiji Access to Justice Project support is being provided to the Fiji Judicial Department in the publishing of the annual ‘Fiji Law Reports’. LOT 1 – Production and Digitization of seven years of Fiji Annual Law Reports The details of the requirements are that for each volume of the Fiji Annual Law Reports; for the years 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016: The creation of tables (table of cases reported, table of cases judicially considered, table of statues judicially considered). Creation of index, proofreading, styling of the judgment text to ensure consistency and readability. Creation of a PDF version of the printed report to be able to be used online. For each case a requirement for catchwords and headnotes to be produced.
First Milestone: Following the provision to the Company of all the cases for 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 which will be provided electronically; the estimate of weeks at which the Volumes will be returned to UNDP for checking by the Fiji Judicial Department of the catchwords, headnotes, formatting and tables.

This is expected to involve: Create an online parent source to contain multiple volumes as indicated below; Create and implement hyperlinks to facilitate access to Fiji Law reports where the company has publication rights; PDF Versions mirroring print versions for handing up in court; and Electronic processing, including uploading and QA assurances to platform.
