A.     Background

UNDP is the UN's global development network, advocating for change and connecting countries to knowledge, experience and resources to help people build a better life. It works with individual countries on their own solutions to global and national development challenges. UNDP Lesotho supports Lesotho’s development priorities laid out in the National Strategic Development Plan. The focus areas of the UNDP Country Programme are Democratic Governance; Environment and Energy; Poverty Reduction and Economic Growth, with Gender Mainstreaming and HIV/AIDS as crosscutting areas.

Under the support of European Commission and UNDP, the Government of Lesotho is implementing a Lesotho Data for Sustainable Development Project, aimed at supporting the collation, analysis and dissemination of development data and building institutional and technical capacities for monitoring and evaluation of development programs.

On behalf of the Ministry of Development Planning, UNDP is looking for experienced and knowledgeable training institutions and/or companies in areas of monitoring and evaluation, results-based management and development planning to develop and facilitate a training program on results based management for Government officials in the planning, M&E and statistics functions.
