RFP_: Construction of cooking stoves in 3 schools in Maracha District
Overview :

The Inclusive and Sustainable New Communities Project aims to build on the local-level achievements in local development and decentralization made by the Government of Uganda and the development partners. The project is funded by the Republic of Korea through the Korea International Development Agency (KOICA), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Government of Uganda.

Under output four of the project – Scale up proven sustainability innovation, the Ministry of Local Government intends to support establishment of cooking eco-stoves in public institutions as an incentive for communities to adopt use of environmentally friendly and sustainable sources of energy for cooking. These institutions will be used as demonstration sites to train communities in the pilot local governments on the use of energy saving stoves, and the use of environment conservation practices such as planting woodlots, and planting of trees at the household level.  Accordingly, the Ministry of Local Government plans to procure services of a firm to install eco-stoves in the selected public institutions and conduct a Training of Trainers (ToT) for communities on environment conservation practices at household level.

Overall Objective:

The overall objective of this activity is to install eco-stoves in selected public institutions, which have a function of providing meals for the primary users, and conduct a Training of Trainers (ToT) for communities on environment conservation practices at household level. These eco stoves will be used as a demonstration for communities to learn the technology and promote environment conservation practices at the household level.
