Overview :

Scope of work/Expected Output

Under the guidance of the Department of Environment and with assistance of the Project Coordinator for the ABS Project, the local consultant is expected to consult, gather, collate and consolidate all necessary information required as per the outputs and prepare a summary report and a full report for consideration by the management of the Ministry in implementing the outcomes of this Project. The consultant will be required to make necessary presentations at various forums and meetings and facilitate information gathering workshops and discussion forums in order to obtain maximum levels of support and assistance from all stakeholders

OUTLINE OF WORK

Under the overall guidance of the Department of Environment and UNDP, the Local Consultant is expected to work together with the National Project Stakeholders particularly Ministry of – I Taukei Affairs, Ministry of Local Government Housing and Environment, Ministry of Fisheries and Ministry of forests others in order to achieve the required outputs. The outline of duties comprises both desk study and in-country information gathering through formal and informal communication, interviews and discussions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide a list of government institutions involved in giving access to genetic resources by way of approvals, permits, licenses or letters for any forms of research whether through community consultation or provincial consultation or directly.
