BACKGROUND The Government of Ghana (GoG), with funding from the Adaptation Fund is implementing a four-year project named “Increased resilience to climate change in northern Ghana through the management of water resources and diversification of livelihoods”. The project aims at addressing climate change-induced decreases in the availability and increasing unpredictability of water resources, and the associated negative impacts of these trends on the livelihoods of rural communities. It is expected to enhance the resilience and adaptive capacity of rural livelihoods to climate impacts and risks on water resources in the three Northern Regions of Ghana. The project is being executed by the Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI) of Ghana in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). ........ SCOPE OF WORK - Undertake hydro-geological investigations to identify suitable sites for the 50 boreholes to be drilled. This work should be conducted in collaboration with the district water and sanitation teams, and should include effective community engagement in the siting process.
- Supervise the drilling activities of the company contracted to drill the boreholes
- Supervise the activities of the company in the borehole construction works
EXPERIENCE - At least 10 years of experience in hydrogeological investigations and borehole siting
- At least 10 years of experience in supervising borehole construction
- Knowledge in water resource management and planning
- Relevant experience in community entry process particularly in the three northern regions
