Overview :

This proposed intervention intends to set up Career Guidance and Counselling Cell(s) (CGCC) in 50 government PU colleges for girls on a pilot basis. Career guidance and counselling will be provided to minimum 10,000 girl students from these 50 chosen PU colleges, and will involve a range of sequential activities. It is expected that these interventions will enhance the capacity of the faculty/teachers for anchoring in-house career guidance, counselling and handholding for the girl student; provide the information and guidance on vocational training & linkages on internship/apprenticeship/vocational skill training program opportunities; and facilitate private sector participation in CGCC in the state.

In the light of the above, UNDP intends to engage an Agency to implement the career guidance and counselling in close consultation with Department of PU Board, Government of Karnataka. The Agency will be responsible for setting-up Career Guidance and Counselling Cells (CGCC) in 50 Pre- University colleges and institutionalize ‘‘career guidance and counselling’ across PU Colleges in the State, build capacity of the faculty/teachers and enhancing the institutional capacity of the PU Board for anchoring career guidance and counselling in-house.
