Overview : Mangroves play an important role in safeguarding the sustainability of many processes that we depend on, such as: coastal protection, ecotourism, agriculture, water purification, CO2 storage and nursery for shrimps and fishes within the system. It is therefore of utmost importance to conserve this ecosystem. To do so, management and monitoring structures must be present and stakeholders at all levels need to be made aware of the importance of the mangrove ecosystem and the need to sustain it, as well as the role they will have to play in this regard. The project aims to formulate a sound strategy for sustainable management of the mangrove ecosystem that includes various actions for the sustainable use of services and goods, conservation and rehabilitation For a full description of this position please Interested candidates are invited to attend an information session on Friday June 1st at 3:30pm.
