The UN Secretary-General’s reform agenda to reposition the UN development system to deliver on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development aims to increase the proportion of UN common premises to 50% by 2021 (currently at 16%).  To support the achievement of this target, the UN Country Team (UNCT) in Jordan has agreed to initiate the process of establishing common premises in Amman, Jordan.

A very preliminary gathering of information done by the Office of the Resident Coordinator (RCO) showed the interest/intention of 9 UN agencies to join the common premises that would at least have 36,000 sqm. to be occupied by about 1,000 staff.  With the approval from the UNCT on the establishment of common premises for interested UN agencies, the UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator (RC/HC) officially informed the Government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) that the UN would like to initiate the process of establishing a One UN common premises in Amman.

The UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator (RC/HC), together with the Chair of the Operations Management Team (OMT), contacted the global UN Development Group (UNDG) Task Team on Common Premises (TTCP) to seek guidance on how to move forward with establishing common premises. The TTCP shared a process flow table and some materials.

The Process Flow includes the following stages:

  1. Determining Project Requirements
  2. Exploring Options and Funds
  3. Conduct of Security Assessment and Project Viability
  4. Project Approval and Implementation

This consultancy is to cover the first three stages of the process, namely: Determining Project Requirements,  Exploring Options and Funds, and Project Viability.

Technical and financial proposals along with CV & 3 references should be submitted, and without such will not be considered.
