Overview : INVITATION TO BID - Procurement of Storage Tanks for Rain Water Harvesting - (ITB/UNDP/GCF/2018/06) The Ministry of Mahaweli Development and Environment with the assistance of the United Nations Development Programme in collaboration with the Department of National Planning, Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources & Disaster Management, Ministry of Agriculture, and Ministry of City Planning and Water Supply secured financing from the Green Climate Fund (GCF) to implement a USD 38.1 million project aimed at strengthening the resilience of Smallholder farmers in the Dry Zone to climate variability and extreme events. The Project started in 2017 will continue until 2024 in seven Dry Zone districts, including Anuradhapura, Vavuniya, Mannar, Polonnaruwa, Puttalam, Kurunegala and Trincomalee districts in Sri Lanka. Providing safe drinking water solutions to poor farmer households and address root causes of water quality issues have been prioritised by the Project. The project is promoting rain-water harvesting as a supplementary source for the water scarce communities in the above districts in coming years. By providing water storage capacity of 5,000L per household, project expects to increase water security of the target beneficiaries. In this context, project is planning to provide 5,000L or 2,000L Poly Ethylene tanks to selected beneficiaries in Kurunagala, Vavniya, Puttalam and Anuradapura districts. To this effect, the United Nations Development Programme in Sri Lanka invites eligible National and or International manufacturers specialized in Poly Ethylene water tanks meeting the respective minimum industry standards to submit Bids for the following. LOT1 - 5,000 Litres Poly Ethylene Water Tanks 476 nos. LOT2 - 2,000 Litres Poly Ethylene Water Tanks 138 nos. Deliver to : Kurunegala, Putlam Anuradhapura and Vavuniya districts The UNDP will NOT accept partial bids within each LOTs and the supplying and delivery must be in full. Any partial bids received will be rejected. The UNDP reserves the right to determine the most suitable option based on value for money. The Technical Specification and all solicitation bid documents will be made available for download free of charge from www.lk.undp.org (operations > procurement) from 12 August 2018 to 29 August 2018. All bids must be clearly marked with the “ITB/UNDP/GCF/2018/06” on the top left corner of the envelope. A pre-bid meeting has been arranged on 16 August 2018 at 09.30am at the below address and bidders are encouraged to attend. The deadline for submission of the bids is 29 August 2018, 2.30 pm Sri Lanka time and all bids must be sealed and delivered to the addresses below. All late offers will be rejected.
