Overview : The approval of the National Disaster Management Policy of Liberia sets the foundation for the shift in the focus and orientation of programmes and initiatives in the country from a reactive and response orientation to a proactive approach focused on risk management. This is clearly articulated in the policy statement of the Government of Liberia which looks into the establishment of “enhanced capacities required for reducing risks and building of community resilience to disaster in Liberia”.
