Overview : The Youth Co:Lab Event manager will coordinate UNDP’s youth related entrepreneurship, start-up and innovation activities as part of the Youth Co:Lab initiative. ‘Youth Co: Lab Regional Summit 2019 In its inaugural year (2017-18), Youth Co:Lab convened 11 national dialogues and social innovation challenges across Asia and the Pacific which culminated at a regional summit. The initiative has developed 21st century skills of more than 1,700 young people and launched or improved 140 social enterprises. The project has also established partnerships with over 80 key partners to strengthen the Youth Empowerment Alliance. Following this success, during its second year (2018-19) Youth Co:Lab will be scaled to 20+ countries and territories in the region including: China, Hong Kong SAR, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Maldives, Nepal, Fiji, Bhutan, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Myanmar, Cambodia, the Republic of Korea and Timor-Leste. Based on the success of its inaugural edition in March, 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand; it is envisaged that the Youth Co:Lab Summit 2019 in Hanoi will be a platform for longer-term regional engagement by UNDP, Citi Foundation and other partners to empower youth on social innovation and entrepreneurship, and help create an enabling environment for young people to have meaningful and sustained engagement with the SDGs.
