Overview : A key deliverable of the European Union (EU) funded and United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) implemented project “Response to Drugs and Related Organized Crime in Nigeria” is to enhance the capacity of prosecutors, investigators and other judicial officers involved in drug related litigation processes. This project is aimed at providing electronic research resources at 3 Judicial Research Centres (JRC) in two states (Yobe and Cross River State) and FCT. The aim of the JRC is to improve timely and quality justice delivery as well as overall transparency of courts’ operations. Easy access to legal information and state-of-the art information systems will help judges and magistrates and other judicial officers (prosecutors, investigators etc.) in conducting research, writing judgements, finding references and case citations. Judicial Research Centre A Judicial Research Centre (JRC) or Justice Research Centre is an Information and Communications Technology (ICT) facility within State High Courts or the Ministry of Justice providing access to legal research tools, the Internet and some specialized office automation applications. The JRC has the following facilities: a server room with 3 servers and network devices (routers/switches), a pool of 30 Windows 7 Pro computers, a multifunction printer/scanner. |
