Consultancy for follow-up on coordination issues in Seychelles and supporting the Seychelles UNCT retreat 2019

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is currently inviting offer for ‘Consultancy for follow-up on coordination issues in Seychelles and support to Seychelles UNCT retreat 2019’ that requires the services of an individual to perform the work described in the abovementioned subject.

Background

The UN Coordination function for Seychelles is currently carried out from a distance by the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office based in Mauritius.

With only two Resident Agencies  in Seychelles, UNDP and WHO, coordination for the UN country team’s programmes and activities require close follow ups and support on ground, especially as the team embraces the implementation of the first UN and Government Strategic Partnership Framework 2019/2023.

Pending the recruitment of dedicated staff in Seychelles, the RC Office is therefore looking for a Consultant to follow up on the urgent coordination issues and to help in the organisation and follow-up actions of the forthcoming UN country team retreat scheduled for 18-19 April in Seychelles.

Objective and Scope

To follow-up the urgent RCO dossiers and support the organisation of the UNCT Retreat 2019 in Seychelles and the follow-up actions thereon.

Role of the Consultant will be to:
- Update the Seychelles Strategic Partnership Framework 2019-2023 with new data sets from the SDG baseline study of Seychelles and finalise the Management Arrangements for the SPF Implementation and Monitoring arrangements
- Liaise with the national stakeholders on behalf of the RCO
- Facilitate missions/workshops/conferences of Non-Resident UN agencies during the time period of the Consultancy
- Prepare briefing kits, updating background documents and providing logistical support for missions, retreats, or visits in coordination with UNCT and counterparts where necessary

Expected Outputs and Deliverables

The consultant is expected to help expedite UN coordination related issues and contribute to the successful holding of the UNCT retreat 2019 in Seychelles.

Duration of the work  - The assignment will be for a maximum of 20 working days from 01 April to 30 June 2019.

Duty Station - The Contractor will be based in Seychelles and the assignment will not involve any travel.
