| Overview : UNDP is seeking the services of a Senior Electrical Engineer with expertise in power generation and distribution to support in the assessment of critical electrical power generation and transmission infrastructure. The Engineer will support UNDP in the development of a plan for support to the rehabilitation of critical elements of the supply and transmission network. Objectives The main objective of contracting the Electrical engineer is to: - Assess the current status of three power plants (Marib 1 plant, Marib; Al Khateeb plant, Hodeidah; Dhaban plant, Sana’a) and identify what is needed to get each station back to full operational capacity;
- Explore any upgrade options (including efficiency, reduction of pollution, etc);
- Develop the technical and financial elements of a plan for rehabilitation under a) and b), including both investment and spare parts for a duration of approximately 1 year to 18 months; and
- Support UNDP in the design of the procurement process for a contracting firm to rehabilitate and upgrade facilities.
