Overview : The Namibia Statistics Agency (NSA) was established in terms of the Statistics Act No. 9 of 2011. The Agency is mandated, amongst others, to constitute as the central statistical authority of the State and to collect, produce, analyses and disseminate official statistics in Namibia. On the same note, the National Spatial Data Infrastructure is established as the national technical and institutional framework to facilitate the capture, management, maintenance, integration, distribution and use of spatial data. The Statistics Act (No. 9 of 2011) establishes the Committee for Spatial Data and provides that, inter alia, the Statistician-General and the Surveyor-General are members of the Committee by virtue of their offices. The NSA currently has various online digital platforms used for data and information dissemination purposes. Services such as the Open Data Portal, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) portal, official NSA website, microdata Catalogue and the Geoportal (https://digitalnamibia.nsa.org.na/) and the Metadata Browser (http://geofind.nsa.org.na/). The aim is to have all these services integrated into one complete, interactive and appealing website for easy access and dissemination of statistical and spatial information.
