Overview : The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) invites national and/or international CSOs/NGOs to submit information for potential partnership with UNDP and the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation (DNP) in delivering outputs under the project “Strengthening Conservation and Incentives for Wildlife Conservation in the Western Forest Complex,” requiring expertise and experience in the area of tiger preys monitoring in the World Heritage Sites, as follows: - To setup permanent transect lines of 3.2 kilometer length for 30 lines with 5 km spacing in Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuary (covering about 1,000 sq.km).
- To survey the line 6-10 times per line to count banteng, gaur, sambar, muntjac, and wild pig using binoculars, compass, and digital laser range finders.
- To train DNP researchers and KU wildlife students on prey survey and wildlife monitoring and conservation.
- To build the volunteer system from all sectors in the society to conduct the volunteer work for line transect survey for tiger prey annually in order to strengthen citizen-science and conservation program for DNP and Thai society in the long run.
