Overview : UNDP received the following request for clarification and our response is as follows; Request for clarifications; - The specs mentioned are extremely similar to the Agromaster CP5 specification (see attached) which is for a 60-70HP tractor however the UNDP spec asks for just 3 tines. Is this correct?
- The dimensions of the main frame required are 120mm x 170mm which are very large and the frame will weigh significantly more than if using standard 100mm x 100mm channel
- 90mm wide tines are very wide. Is this correct?
- Are there 2 seed & 2 fertilizer hoppers or just one of each?
- Are the seed & fertilizer hoppers to be fitted into the chisel plough & if so, how many outlets and at what spacing?
- What mechanism do you want to drive the seed & fertilizer hoppers?
- What crops do you want to plant so seed plate hole sizes are determined?
Our Response The technical specification we gave are those that we need. The Agromaster CP5 works well in a ploughed field to create planting follows and one of the none negotiable CA principle is minimum soil disturbance to the extant possible. In this case we are not ploughing at all and NO need of Agromaster CP5. The main frame is of that size because its the frame that gives weight to push the tines to cut through un ploughed field. So it has to remain 120mmX170mm. The tines are 90mm just to enable cut through and break the hard pan underneath. Each seed hopper is aligned with a tine, if we are using a 3 tine ripper we shall need 3 seed hoppers and 3 fertilizer hoppers. If we are using a 2 tine, then we will need to seed and fertilizer hoppers. The supplier should supply with different seed plates for different seed sizes. Regards UNDP KAMPALA |
