Background:
Prince Sultan Fund for Women Development (PSFW) was founded by HRH Prince Mohammed bin Fahd as a financially independent non-profit organization to empower Saudi women culturally, socially and economically. PSFW works on achieving this vision through three specialized centers that work under its management and umbrella, those centers are Business Funding and Support, Prince Mohammad bin
Fahad Youth Leaders Preparation Center, and Princess Jawaher bint Nayef Center for Women Research and Studies.
Princess Jawaher bint Nayef Center for Women Research and Studies, is one of the important units whose mission PSFW is working on developing and to assist towards women development and empowerment. The center is to have a vital role in feeding PSFW management and other NGO’s working with Saudi women, with the actual needs and issues Saudi women face, and what can be done for them to be more empowered in taking the lead, through accurate statistics and studies. The objective of this center is to:
1- Collect information, data, and statistics on Saudi women, and analyzing it to gain more awareness of Saudi women role and reality in the Kingdom.
2- Gather information on women’s issues and problems, and build an understanding, in order to
come up with feasible recommendations and solutions to be raised to officials or interested parties.
3- Become the main source in the region for accurate information and data on Saudi women.
To achieve women empowerment and raise the number of leading Saudi women, PSFW has established this center; whose importance lies in building and collecting information on Saudi women that may not be available elsewhere; and to change individual efforts of studies and research on this matter to a more institutionalized method. Nowadays, it is injudicious to ignore the importance of studies and research in the development process; therefore, it is imprudent to ignore or to move forward without a clear understanding of what Saudi women face, struggle with, want, and need for them to make a decent and respectful leaving, and to be leaders in society and country.
PSF approached UNDP for assistance in the researches and studies; and in the strategic planning for this center.
Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz Fund for Women Development seeks the expertise of a consultant who is an expert in the field of research and studies strategic planning, setting, analyzing, and translating the outcomes into programs and recommendations that would serve the targeted sector. |
