Introduction
UNDP Zambia, in partnership with the Ministry of Health (MoH) and the Smart Zambia Institute (SZI), is implementing the Smart Health Systems / Solar for Health initiative to provide reliable power and connectivity to health facilities across Zambia.
As part of this initiative, Starlink Gen 3 Standard and Starlink Mini satellite Internet kits will be deployed to selected health facilities. This Request for Quotation (RFQ) seeks a Contractor (s) to design, fabricate, supply, install and commission standardized steel mounting structures for these Starlink kits at health facilities nationwide.
The solution shall be safe, robust, cost-effective, replicable and compliant with:
a. Smart Zambia Guidelines for Starlink Deployment in Public Bodies, 2025 (attached);
b. Starlink Gen 3 Standard and Starlink Mini manufacturer specification sheets and installation guides (attached);
c. UNDP’s Social and Environmental Standards (SES) and Gender Equality Strategy.
d. Applicable Zambian laws, building codes and relevant standards; and
e. UNDP policies, procedures, and Code of Conduct.
3.2 Lot Structure
For the purposes of this RFQ, the works are divided into two Lots as follows:
· Lot 1 – Central, South & East Corridor: Lusaka, Central, Southern and Eastern Provinces (districts as listed in Table 15-1).
· Lot 2 – North & West Corridor: Copperbelt, North-Western, Western, Northern, Muchinga and Luapula Provinces (districts as listed in Table 15-1).
