Background The Liberia National Commission on Small Arms (LiNCSA) has received funding support from the 11th European Development Fund (EDF) under the framework of the project, Organized Crime: West Africa Response to Trafficking (OCWAR-T). The support is an integral part of the Regional Indicative Programme on EU Aid to West Africa (RIP) under the 11th EDF, the Joint Valetta Action Plan and the European Union’s commitment to strengthening the governance conditions and improving the mechanisms for maintaining peace and stability by combatting organized crime groups involved in illicit trafficking. The three-year Project which is being managed by the United Nations Development Fund (UNDP) covers seven (7) ECOWAS Member States including Liberia and is designed to strengthen regional governance frameworks in combatting transnational organized crimes (TOC) and trafficking and to enhance the capacity of state agencies specialized in combatting these threats. |
