Project Description: United Nations Common Compound in Garowe is housed at a privately owned property by a Somali citizen. This compound has been accommodating UN Agencies since 2007 with fluctuating occupancy, the latest being a reorganization at the premise resulting in the reconsideration of spacing management. In this regard, UNCC will carry out some civil work including restoration of the current Guest House, separation of the office building from the current Guest House including the Caretaker building, and establishing a new mission Guest House onto an existing building. 2. Scope of Works: The proposed civil works will be at the UNCC in Garowe- Puntland, Somalia. The main activities proposed for the civil works include: demolishing and mobilization activities, remodelling 9 villas to their original state, security activities, refurbishment of temporary kitchen, converting offices to self contain accommodations, external mechanical installation, and renovation for offices at second floor. The construction works are detailed below under section 2.1- the Bill of Quantities (BoQ). Under the supervision of the UNDP Engineer, the Contractor shall: ? Perform works in conformity to quality/quantity and accuracy as stipulated in the detailed specification ? Implement the project based on a detailed Construction Work Schedule which shall be approved by the UNDP engineer; ? Institute a quality control system to ensure adequate monitoring of the works progress at all times; ? Maintain all the required licences during the contract period. ? Technical qualifications shall comply without any deviation to those specified in the Bill of Quantities without deviations. Any alterations to be BoQ will be implemented in accordance with Article 48 (Alterations, Additions and Ommissions) of the UNDP General Conditions for Civil Works. |
