| Overview : The United Nations HR Working (HRWG)Group was tasked to review the current “WELCOME to South Africa: An introductory guide for staff joining the UN in South Africa Booklet”. The UN HRWG has done its best to consult relevant stakeholders within the UN system to review and provide up to date information. However, UNHRWG acknowledges that there has been numerous changes within the country and the UN, which necessitate further review to ensure accuracy. The purpose of The Welcome to South Africa Booklet is to provide a general induction guide for all UN Staff to provide practical information on living in South Africa. It will be of a great help to incoming international staff assigned to South Africa and Newly recruited National staff. The pre-arrival section will assist international staff to better plan and prepare ahead of their relocation, which will facilitate smooth transition. Newly recruited National UN will have a better understanding of the UN System irrespective of where they are stationed within the South African boundaries. With a central repository of information, each and every UN Staff will have a common understanding of the living conditions in South Africa. In this regard, a consultant is required for a period of 15 working days to finalize the booklet.
