| Overview : UNDP is looking for 02 National Consultants to support the implementation of a data collection system for management of marine plastic litters. The project Ending Plastic Pollution Innovation Challenge (EPPIC) seeks to reduce plastic pollution in coastal areas in Viet Nam and Thailand in 2020, followed by Indonesia and the Philippines in 2021, contributing to the achievement of SDG 14 (Life Below Water) and SDG 12 (Responsible Production and Consumption). EPPIC will bring together citizens, local governments, and the private sector to collaborate in establishing effective and innovative solutions. The EPPIC competition is also the opportunity to drive change by raising awareness, collecting lessons learned and trying new approaches to address localised plastic issues. One of our approach is to get people’s attention, by targeting their sense of urgency and severity of the waste management issues through a mobile app called “San Rac” (“Trash Hunt” in English). This app encourages people to record and report places littered with trash, thus map out indiscriminate dumping sites, and help local authorities, stakeholders and residents to deal with them in a timely manner. In this context, UNDP and VASI is looking for 02 National Consultants to support the review and implementation of the information system to engage stakeholders and community for the plastic and waste management in Vietnam. The 2 national consultants will work together.
